    • Free users: You can add and manage up to 3 accounts in the official clients (iOS, Android, Desktop).
    • Telegram Premium users: Limit increases to 4 accounts.

III. Media Sharing and Storage Limits

Telegram is known for its powerful file-sharing features — but not without limits:

1. File Upload Size

  • Free users: Max file size per upload is 2 GB.
  • Premium users: Max file size per upload is 4 GB.
  • Bot API uploads: Typically limited to 20 MB (or 50 MB with self-hosted Bot API).

2. Photos and Videos

  • Batch sending: Up to 10 photos or videos can be selected and sent at once.
  • Video profile picture: Max duration is approximately 10 seconds.

3. Voice and Video Messages

  • Voice messages: No hard limit, but constrained by device storage and network conditions.
  • Video messages (circular): Max duration is 1 minute.

4. Cloud Storage Space

Telegram offers free and nearly unlimited cloud storage for messages and media shared in standard chats (non-secret chats). There’s no need to worry about running out of space.

IV. Bots, API, and Other Advanced Limits

For developers and advanced users, Telegram’s bot platform and API also have their own limits:

1. Bots

  • Bot creation: One user can create up to 20 bots using @BotFather.
  • Bot commands: Up to 100 commands can be set for a bot.
  • Bot description: Max length is 512 characters.
  • Bot “About” section: Max length is 120 characters.
  • API rate limits: Telegram enforces strict API rate limits:
    • Max 1 message per second to the same group.
    • Max 20 messages per second to different users.
    • Exceeding these limits will result in failed API calls. Refer to the Bot API docs for details.

2. Reporting and User Behavior

  • Report frequency: Reporting users/messages may be rate-limited to prevent abuse.
  • Account behavior restrictions: Actions like excessive friend adding, mass group creation, or spamming in unfamiliar groups may trigger system-level restrictions. These may include:
    • Temporary inability to message non-contacts
    • Inability to create public groups/channels These are usually automated and temporary.
  • t.me short links: Besides user and public group/channel links, t.me/ can also be used for:
    • Message links
    • Sticker pack links
    • Bot commands and more
