How to register a Telegram account?

Step 1: After installing the app, open Telegram. You’ll see the welcome screen — tap “Start Messaging.”

Step 2: Note that Telegram primarily uses phone number registration.

On the phone number verification screen:

• Select your country/region (e.g., China +86, USA +1).
• Enter your phone number.
• Tap “Next.”

Step 3: Telegram will send a verification code to your phone, usually via SMS, or sometimes directly within the app. Once received, enter the code. If the SMS is delayed, wait a bit or tap “Resend”.

Step 4: After successful verification, you can set your username or display name.

Notes:

1. Each phone number can only register one Telegram account.
2. After registration, you can go to Settings → Privacy and Security to adjust options such as hiding your phone number, so it won't be visible to others when adding new contacts.
